Goa’s LB Brewers inks a global-first partnership with Taiwan brewery to introduce India’s first bottled tea beer

Goa’s Latambarcem Brewers (LB Brewers), home to some of the finest Indian craft beers, has announced a global-first partnership with Taiwan’s Jim and Dad’s Brewing Company. The groundbreaking first-time collaboration paves the way for authentic Xiangzhuang Red Oolong tea from Taiwan to be flown in to produce India’s first bottled tea beer – MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche. Marking a significant cross-cultural brewing milestone, the Exclusive Limited Edition brew has been made available only in the global tourist hotspot of Goa and Taiwan’s capital-cum-cultural epicenter Taipei.

Elaborating on the first-of-its-kind global partnership, LB Brewers co-founder and CEO Aditya Ishan Varshnei said, “Our collaboration with the Jim and Dad’s Brewing Company of Taiwan is a celebration of cross-cultural brewing. A global-first landmark, it signifies an unprecedented confluence of cultures, with the ancient Taiwanese tea tradition meeting Latambarcem’s Belgian Blanche brewing expertise. It has strategically been launched across two globally sought-after destinations, so that craft beer connoisseurs from all over the world can witness and experience the coming together of two diverse worlds.”

Jim Sung, Co-founder of Jim and Dad’s Brewing Company said “Being able to share the unique flavor of Taiwanese Oolong tea with India, and also bringing some of India’s flavors back to Taiwan made the collaboration totally worthwhile. Our team had a great time visiting Goa, and exchanging brewing techniques with our Indian counterparts. We hope this beer can serve as a great introduction to both cultures in our respective markets”

The launch of MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche marks a global first milestone in the craft beer domain, with two major brewers from India and Taiwan collaborating to celebrate cultural fusion and offer a never-before experience to the beer lovers. Oo-Long Blanche will appeal to everyone who appreciates craft beverages with a story behind them; whether they’re craft beer aficionados, fans of Taiwanese culture or those interested in global partnerships.

MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche is an adventurous take on fusion beer that harmoniously combines the smooth, refreshing notes of wheat beer with the delicate aromas of Xiangzhuang Red Oolong tea handpicked from the famous Zhengfu Tea Garden. The global brew allows you to discover a subtly sophisticated and refined experience, with a hint of playfulness & excitement. It comes after a meticulously-curated brewing process, wherein a delicate balance is achieved by adding the tea leaves at the end of brewing, thereby preserving the subtle aromas and notes defining the drink. Available exclusively in Goa and Taipei for just INR 150 each, the adventurous, crisp and refreshing fusion beer, with a perfectly balanced 4-5% ABV, is crafted for every occasion.

Notably, this comes just months after the LB Brewers stormed the craft rice lager segment with MAKA di Rocket Rice Lager, for those seeking easy-to-drink lagers especially for casual occasions. Notably, Maka Di is one of India’s finest global craft beer range, with various bespoke options – light beers, medium as well as strong lagers – tailored for different tastes and occasions. While in India Maka Di is a hot favourite across Goa and Uttar Pradesh, it is widely loved by beer lovers in US, Canada, and UAE.
